Eating Disorder Treatment
Recovery is hard, but living the rest of your life with an eating disorder will be harder. My goal is to help you break free from your eating disorder and improve the relationship you have with food, your body, and yourself. I understand that ambivalence is a part of the recovery process, and will work with you to help you better understand your eating disorder, how it is serving you, and help you to meet your emotional needs without turning to your eating disorder.
Family, Significant Others and Supporters
Witnessing a loved one struggle with an eating disorder is incredibly challenging. I will offer you a compassionate space of your own where you can talk about what you are going through. The eating disorder treatment process is complex and can be confusing at times. I will help you to better understand how to support your loved one, while also helping you to learn how to better support yourself.
We all experience unique challenges in life, and I will work with you to address any problems getting in the way of your happiness. I will provide you with compassionate support, therapeutic skills, and encouragement as you navigate through relationship difficulties, overwhelming stress at work, low self-esteem, body-image issues, or the ongoing effects of traumatic a life experience. I will offer you a space to vent, explore what is important to you, and empower you to successfully meet your goals.
All of us develop through our connections to others and the world around us. Group therapy will provide you with a supportive community of people who are trying to figure out how to cope with the challenges of life just like you. You will look forward to your weekly therapy group, as it will be a time for you to connect with others who truly understand what you are going through. I offer a Women's Support Group, and two groups specifically for eating disorders: Open Process Group for Eating Disorders and DBT for Binge Eating Disorder.
